HOMEMADE WRAPS

When my friend Britt and I meet up, we usually get up to no good. That is exactly what happened a few days ago. We decided that we wanted to make homemade wraps, even though we both aren't the best chefs (read: terrible). So after some serious struggles, a few glasses of rosé and a very messy kitchen, it surprisingly worked! Here's how we made our homemade wraps.



Ingredients:

250 g self raising flour// 150 g warm water// 50 g butter// a pinch of salt


Firstly, make sure that the butter is on room temperature. Then put the flour and salt in a bowl and mix the butter into it until it is a crumbly substance. 



Next, add the water and kneed everything until all the ingredients are mixed.


Sprinkle some flour on a smooth cutting board and kneed the dough again. Then divide the dough into little balls of approximately 30-35 grams, lay a tea towel over them and leave them for about 10-15 minutes.



When the 10-15 minutes are up, take the dough balls one by one and roll them out with a rolling pin (or a cucumber if you don't have one, no big deal) until they are quite thin and round. Make sure you use plenty of flour when rolling out the though balls to make sure that they don't stick to the surface!


Next, take a saucepan and let it heat up on medium heat. When the pan is properly heated, take a wrap and place it in the pan without any oil or butter. When you start seeing bubbles at the top it is ready to be flipped over. This happens in a few seconds, so make sure you keep a close eye on your wraps!



Finally, when you have cooked all of your wraps, they should look a little something like this. 



Then just add any topping that you like (we added cream cheese, lettuce and cucumber) and bon appétit!
